Soho Live Music Club was founded by musicians in 2014 and is still run by them. It started after hours, when the day's work in the studios finished and the players wanted somewhere to keep going. The Club has always been venue agnostic: the Boulevard Theatre, The Shed Soho, the original Piano Bar on Carlisle Street. Some rooms we ran for years, some for a season. Soho is the jurisdiction, the rooms come and go. This quarter square mile has been making musicians for over 250 years, and studio by day, stage by night is the oldest trick in it.
Today the rooms are at 49 Greek Street and 41 Great Windmill Street. Alfie's sits inside the Union Club, with a studio grand piano and a bar named fifth best in the world for 2026. At 41, the restored basement is Jack Solomons Club, where a 1920s prohibition bar shipped from New York is now home to The Piano Bar. Below it, the Discovery Stage is the first grassroots venue in Europe certified by Yamaha Sound xR. More than a thousand shows a year.
