Jazztronica Live: Jay Phelps
Jack Solomons Club11:15pm–12am
12:15–1am
This show is on both passes.
Jay Phelps returns to the Jazztronica stage for a second night at Soho Jazz Festival, and Friday's set pushes further into the club side of the format: trumpet lines built to sit over a DJ set rather than a live band, the beats holding steady while the horn improvises freely across them. Where Thursday's set found its footing, this one leans into the experiment — longer stretches of programmed rhythm, more space for the trumpet to work as a genuine lead instrument rather than a novelty over the top. At Jack Solomons Club, expect the kind of late-week energy that comes from a band finding its groove on night two.
Late sets and jams, doors from 21:00, running past midnight.
Home of the Discovery Stage. A modern continuation of Soho’s music history: established in 1948, the club was the site of Club Eleven, The Scene Club, and early performances by The Rolling Stones and The Who. Yamaha Sound xR certified, the first grassroots venue in Europe with this system, with 3D audio positioning and acoustic enhancement.

Beats, played live by anything from a single instrument to a full band. An experiment in what technology does to a room: the discipline of a fixed recording holding its line while improvisation moves freely over the top, neither giving way to the other.
