The Next Wave closes Discovery's run with Drumcat Murray behind the kit: a drummer-led finale that flips the usual festival billing, rhythm out front and the rest of the band built around it rather than the other way round. It's a fitting way to end the strand that's spent four nights giving the stage to rising names across Soho Jazz Festival — a set built on groove and interplay as much as any single soloist, and one of the most physical closing sets on the whole bill. Expect the Discovery stage's boldest booking of the week, and a finish built to leave Jack Solomons Club buzzing rather than winding down.
