Jonathan Bauer
Archer StreetThis show is on both passes.
Jonathan Bauer works both ends of the songbook at once: trumpet solos that nod to the horn players who wrote half of it, and a voice built for the crooners who sang the other half. At Legendary Voices, that combination is the whole point — a stage built on Sinatra, Ella and Dean, and on the singers keeping that language alive rather than simply covering it. On Archer Street for Soho Jazz Festival, expect a set that moves from a ballad sung straight to a trumpet solo that cuts loose, without ever losing the thread of the Soho Songbook it's drawing from.
Late sets and jams, doors from 21:00, running past midnight.
The cocktail bar on Archer Street where the staff sing. A room with performance already built into its DNA, which makes it the natural home for the festival’s vocal programme.
The glamorous crooners, divas and vocalists leading the scene today, saluting the ones who set the standard: Sinatra, Ella, Dean. Every song comes from the Soho Songbook, and only the best make it in, written in Soho, Paris, Berlin, New York, Vegas and Hollywood.
