Jazz without Borders

13–16 August 2025

This August, Alfie’s, Piano Bar Soho, and the brand-new Jack Solomons Jazz Club present for Jazz Without Borders. A celebration of jazz as a universal language, this week brings together international artists, cross-cultural collaborations, and fresh interpretations of the art form.

From Egyptian jazz fusion to Latin-flavoured jams, expect an eclectic line-up that reflects the global heartbeat of jazz. Part of Soho Live Music Club’s 100 Years of Grassroots Music Discovery, these shows put the spotlight on diverse rhythms, improvisational brilliance, and the next generation of talent.

Global Grooves, Soho Stage

Jack Solomons Jazz Club takes the lead this week with standout performances including Pablo Barrios’ Latin-charged Soho Jazz Jam, Carlos de Luisa’s Flamenco Groove Cocktail Set, and Miguel Luque’s Flamenco Flavours. These nights blend rich tradition with modern fire, making London feel like the world’s hottest jazz crossroads.

Alfie's and The French Connection

Across Alfie’s and Piano Bar Soho, you’ll find artists such as Ahmed Harfoush, Jon Bauer, and Basil Hodge Trio, each bringing a personal interpretation of jazz heritage. Whether in the intimacy of a hidden piano bar or the buzzing energy of Alfie’s stage, every set is an open invitation to travel through sound. On Friday at Alfie’s, the Koko Collective presents A Portrait of Sidney Bechet, channelling the French Riviera spirit of this legendary soprano saxophonist. Expect Parisian swing, New Orleans roots, and a timeless elegance that turns the heart of Soho into a Left Bank café for the night, and a true story of how Jazz crossed borders to influence local culture.
