
Ahmed Harfoush
Ahmed Harfoush is an Egyptian–London‑based jazz vocalist, bandleader, and cultural ambassador who founded The Egyptian Jazz Projekt in 2015 to reimagine 1950s–60s Egyptian pop through modern jazz arrangements.
Born in Cairo and partially raised in the U.S., he trained in choirs at the American University in Cairo under mentor Larry Catlin and led Cairo’s Riff Band from the early 2000s, co-founding the Cairo Jazz Festival in 2009 and later chairing the Jazz Society of Egypt.
With global performances at venues like the Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room), Dubai Opera, Cairo Opera House, and repeated appearances at the EFG London Jazz Festival, Harfoush bridges cultural histories, preserving Egyptian musical heritage through jazz while captivating international audiences
