Matt Holborn is one of the UK’s leading jazz violinists, known for his cinematic tone and deep improvisational fluency. Whether weaving through gypsy swing or spacious modern arrangements, his playing is instantly recognisable — lyrical, unpredictable, and always locked in.
A long-time regular at The Piano Bar Soho and Alfie’s Soho, Matt has become a fixture of the Soho Live Music Club sound. He’s performed with the London Django Collective, toured internationally, and recorded with Soho Live Studios. Drawing influence from his travels and studies in India, Romania, and across Europe, Matt’s music reflects both a reverence for tradition and a hunger for new textures. His quartet sets often blend original compositions with bold reworks of jazz standards, always with a sharp edge and unmistakable voice.
On stage, Matt is an expressive and magnetic performer — the kind who can hush a room with a single note or drive it into swing with fiery intensity. At Soho Live, he’s more than a guest — he’s part of the foundation.
