Stuart Barker is a double and electric bass player who has firmly established himself as a compelling presence on the UK jazz circuit. A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, where he studied under Arnie Somogyi and Mark Hodgson and took masterclasses with the likes of Dave Holland, Jeff Ballard and John Taylor, Stuart has performed alongside The Clark Tracey Quintet and Brandon Allen, and appeared at major venues including The 606 Club, the Spice of Life, and Symphony Hall Birmingham. His festival credits span Cheltenham, Brecon, Marlborough, Southport and Derby, as well as the Bratislava Jazz Festival and Jazz Kitchen in Sweden. A regular headliner at Soho Live Music Club venues, Stuart's performances are a captivating mix of classic jazz standards and modern compositions, driven by his warm, authoritative bass sound and instinctive musicianship.
