The Night
Latin rhythm takes the Piano Bar this Friday: Isaac Harari leads from the kit, Nestor alongside him on percussion and Dorance Lorza on guitar, in the hidden jazz den inside Jack Solomons. Two shows, 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM, cocktails from 6:00 PM. Expect summer heat played out in clave and cowbell, close enough to feel the groove land.
The Music
Isaac Harari is a percussionist first, on the kit tonight — Royal College of Music-trained, a BBC Young Musician category finalist and RCM's 2024 Zildjian Prize winner, who's shared stages with the World Percussion Group at the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall. Here he drives a Latin trio, Nestor on percussion and Dorance Lorza on guitar alongside him. Three players, one groove, a room built for standing close to it.
Fridays at the Piano Bar run on temperature, and this one runs hot: son montuno and cha-cha in place of standards, a rhythm section built to move a crowded room rather than just fill it. Isaac's classical pedigree meets dancefloor instinct, Nestor and Dorance keeping the clave honest underneath him. Come for the summer heat, stay for the encore.
