Arran Kent and the Koko Collective close Soho's City of Stars with a Christmas cracker.
The Koko Collective grew out of Soho's jazz clubs, and Arran has led it from Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham to Charlie Parker tributes on International Jazz Day. A multi-reed man, saxophone and clarinet first, he also plays clarinet in the klezmer band Tantz and turns up on Jasmine Myra's albums for Gondwana Records. He led Giants of Bebop at Alfie's for Soho Jazz Festival '26.
The Night
This Christmas, Soho Live Studios puts twelve rising stars of jazz in lights. Soho's City of Stars, a Soho Jazz Festival series, spotlights the artists we believe in most, one night each at Alfie's Jazz Club and the Piano Bar at Jack Solomons, hand-picked for the moment just before everyone else catches on.
The final night of the series, at Alfie's Jazz Club, Greek Street: candlelight, a studio grand, a Soho Vodka Martini, and the band Soho made, sending the year out loud.
Twelve stars, one last night. Pull the cracker.
