The Music
Welsh trumpeter Andy Davies takes the Piano Bar for a Red Room night, with stride pianist James Browne at the keys.
Andy is Soho jazz royalty. The Guardian called him “one of the most sensitive and creative trumpeters to emerge on the British jazz scene in recent years”. Gillespie and Miles are the accent, and the delivery is pure Davies. James, a founding member of the Koko Collective, brings stride, blues and the songbook, with a left hand that does the work of a whole rhythm section.
The Night
By day this is Red Room Studios, where records get made. By night it turns into the Piano Bar at Red Room Studios, the hidden jazz den inside Jack Solomons Club, with the lights low and the cocktails crafted for the characters of Soho.
