The Music
Olivia Cuttill is a trumpeter and composer who graduated from Leeds Conservatoire in 2023 and won the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award in 2024. Her albums The Whole Damn Plan and ...And Writing And Singing And Tunes To Be Swingin' have carried her to Ronnie Scott's, the Southbank Centre and the EFG London Jazz Festival, and she plays with NYJO and Ferg's Imaginary Big Band.
New Orleans runs through everything she plays, from Louis Armstrong to Dr John, and Christmas is where that tradition shines brightest: Armstrong's Cool Yule and Christmas in New Orleans, the carols given a Crescent City strut, and the standards the season was made for. The early house for mince pies, the late house for the brass.
