The Music
Friday Fever is the Piano Bar's weekend kick-off, and on bonfire weekend trumpeter and singer Jonathan Bauer lights it.
Jonathan divides his time between London, New Orleans and Canada, and has played and recorded with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ellis Marsalis and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. MusicWeb International heard a “warm, rounded and full-toned” trumpet, and a voice that brings Chet Baker to mind.
The Night
Piano Bar Soho is the hidden jazz den inside Jack Solomons Club, at 41 Great Windmill Street. On a weekend it is the room in full rhythm: candles, a crowd that came to listen, and a menu of cocktails crafted for the characters of Soho.
