Riketté Genesis was discovered at The Piano Bar Soho, and she has become one of Soho Live Studios' all-time greats.
A south London singer with the standards in her bones, Riketté takes songs written generations ago and makes them sound like they were written this year: authentic, warm and full of flair. She sings They Can't Take That Away from Me on After Hours at the Piano Bar Soho, the record that caught her early, and has since taken her voice to the Southbank Centre, Wilderness Festival and Satchmo's Jazz Festival in Lagos. Her EP Busy Line leans into gypsy swing, from The Nearness of You to Bei Mir Bist Du Schön, and she has recreated Billie Holiday's Carnegie Hall concert. Watching her now is watching a true London jazz singer arrive.
The Night
Alfie's Jazz Club is a members' bar hidden in plain sight above Greek Street. Inside: candlelight, curated art, a studio grand, and a Soho Live Studios regular bringing the songbook up close.
