Bonfire Night, and Detroit saxophonist Houston Patton lights the fuse at the Piano Bar. A Soho Jazz Festival '26 discovery, now a Soho Live Studios regular.
Houston swapped a computer science degree for jazz and never looked back. Taught first by his father, he studied with Detroit's saxophone legend Wendell Harrison, took the jazz course at the University of Michigan, and in New York played Minton's Playhouse, the Harlem club where bebop was born. His debut album as a leader, Here We Are, came out with his quintet Quintessential.
The Night
Remember, remember. Leave the bonfires to the parks: Soho's sparks fly at 41 Great Windmill Street, where the Piano Bar has candlelight, cocktails crafted for the characters of Soho, and a saxophone going for the high notes.
