The Music
Arran Kent lights up Alfie's with a bebop all-star night: the Koko Collective's stride pianist James Browne, singer Grace Sheene and drummer Andrew Wood. All four are Soho Live Studios regulars, and Arran led Giants of Bebop at Alfie's for Soho Jazz Festival '26.
Arran leads the Koko Collective on saxophone and clarinet, the band that grew out of Soho's jazz clubs, and has led it through Charlie Parker tributes on International Jazz Day. James Browne is the band's founding pianist, famous for his stride. Andrew Wood, the house drummer at Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham and a sideman with Tony Kofi, has played rooms up to the Royal Albert Hall. And out front, Kentucky-born Grace Sheene, a Soho Jazz Festival favourite.
The Night
Bonfire weekend, and Alfie's Jazz Club turns up the heat: candlelight, a studio grand, a Soho Vodka Martini, and Charlie Parker's music played the way it was meant to be, fast.
Also at Alfie's on Saturday 21 November.
